Former Alexander & Baldwin chairman and CEO, Allen Doane, will be part of the executive-in-residence program for the spring 2013 semester at the University of Hawaii's Shidler College of Business, Manoa.

The program provides students, alumni and faculty, an opportunity to learn and work with prominent business leaders from the country.

"It's such an honor to have Allen join us at the college," Vance Roley, dean of the Shidler College of Business, said. "Allen has more than 40 years of business leadership experience to share with our students.

Roley said that Doane's vast knowledge and expertise will provide Hawaii's business community better exposure on varied topics.

Despite Doane's new responsibility, he will still remain the director at A&B and assist the boards of First Hawaiian Bank, BancWest Corp., and Pacific Guardian Life Insurance Co.

Apart from Doane, the program also features Larry Rodriguez, former managing partner of Ernst & Young, Hawaii and former chief financial officer for Central Pacific Bank, and Robert Clarke, former chairman, CEO and president of Hawaiian Electric Industries.

For the program, financial leaders will essay the role of guest lecturers, mentors, and advisors, sharing their business knowledge and experiences.
