Michael Oren, Israel's Ambassador to U.S. since June 2006, will visit Kansas State University Jan.29.

Oren will present "Israel, The Ultimate Ally" for Landon Lecture Series in Forum Hall at Kansas State University.

For the past 40 years, the university has organized the Landon Lecture Series to highlight public issues.

"Coming from such a historically rich and politically complex part of the world, Ambassador Oren no doubt will shed new light on our country's relationship with Israel," Jackie Hartman, the university's chief of staff, director of community relations and chair of the Landon Lecture Series said in a press release. "He will help us carry on the Landon Lecture Series tradition of bringing world leaders to Kansas State University."

Students studying public administration & affairs and social welfare programs can get in-depth knowledge on U.S. and Israel relations.

Oren is U.S. born and educated and his last two books - 'Power, Faith and Fantasy: America in the Middle East from 1776 to the Present" and "Six Days of War' were New York Times best sellers.

Oren's last visit to the country was not memorable as 10 students were convicted of misbehavior for repeated interruptions during his 2010 speech at UC Irvine.
