The Ole Miss Rebels (22) have suffered from inconsistency this season, suffering head-scratching losses and winning thrilling upsets; yet they find themselves still able to win the SEC West.

The LSU Tigers (15), on the other hand, busted out of the gates to a 7-0 record and were leading the way in the SEC West before stumbling with losses to Alabama and Arkansas in their last two games.

Ole Miss' best and most important win came against Alabama in week five, because if the two wind up in a tie atop the SEC West, the Rebels have the advantage. LSU needs to win out and for Alabama to lose out, because the Tigers lost to the Tide and would not have such an advantage.

Neither team seems to have much of a shot at the College Football Playoff (CFP), but they can certainly cause a great of chaos in the nation's most contentious division and get the most out of what has been a disappointing season.

"It is really, really difficult to manage the young kids' psyche and the coaches' psyche. Everyone," Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze said in his weekly press conference. "I can't speak for (LSU), but I know firsthand the disappointment that not only comes from a loss, but a loss of being in a position you really want to be in."
