Kentucky head men's basketball coach John Calipari secured a commitment from his fifth Top-50 recruit in the class of 2016 with Malik Monk.

A six-foot-three combo guard, Monk is a five-star prospect that ranks fifth overall on the 2016 ESPN 100. 247 Sports rated Monk with a 0.9982 composite score and ranked him the top overall combo guard in his class.

Monk's commitment gave Calipari his fifth prospect ESPN ranks in its Top 50 and the third among the list's Top 10. Monk will join power forward Bam Adebayo (6), point guard De'Aaron Fox (7), power forward Wenyen Gabriel (23), and Sacha Killeya-Jones (31) at Kentucky next fall.

"This has been the toughest decision I have made in my life," Monk said in a statement he posted to his Twitter account. "With so many great coaches and historical programs recruiting me, it has really been a tough but fun process."
