University of Tulsa's athletic director Ross Parmley has been sent on paid administrative leave while the university carries an investigation into his alleged involvement in gambling.
Tulsa University president Steadman Upham released a statement announcing the decision to keep Parmley away from all official activities until the latter is cleared of all charges.
"TU Athletic Director Ross Parmley has been placed on paid administrative leave pending further investigation into allegations of gambling. In the interim, Executive Vice President Kevan Buck will be acting athletic director," said Upham.
Parmley came under the scanner after he was linked to infamous Oklahoma City gambler Teddy Mitchell.
An FBI agent's affidavit filed under seal in Oklahoma City federal court in April and unsealed last week, described Parmley as an "admitted gambler," reported Tulsa World.
The 39-year-old Parmley was appointed at Tulsa in January after serving three months as interim athletics director. He previously served as Tulsa's director of football operations and assistant athletic director for football, according to the college website.
