The Texas A&M Aggies (9) are trying to avoid losing three in a row to the Alabama Crimson Tide (10), but are more importantly trying to keep the high ground in the highly contentious SEC West.

Texas A&M is now three years removed from their thrilling upset over Alabama and have suffered two straight losses to the Tide. In 2013, Johnny Manziel and co. nearly made it two in a row and lost 49-42, but last year was the one that hurt, as Alabama blew Texas A&M out 59-0.

LSU and Texas A&M sit atop the SEC West at 3-0 and 2-0, respectively, followed by Ole Miss and Alabama at 2-1. But with how tough the division is and with the College Football Playoff rankings on the horizon, every week is vital.

"I'm not being smart here, but as you win every week, this game becomes the biggest game," Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin said in his weekly press conference. "This game is a big game because we're 5-0, and it's Alabama, and we're both top-10 teams, and we're both trying to win the division championship and get to Atlanta... Is it a benchmark (game)? It's a benchmark in the SEC every week."
