The exiled spiritual leader of China-occupied Tibet, Dalai Lama, will be the star- attraction at the two-day ‘Common Ground for Peace’ forum at Syracuse University, New York.

The event will feature panel discussions and music concerts spread across two days- Oct. 8 and Oct.9 and every program will be centered on the 77-year-old who is largely regarded as the epitome of peace all around the word. Monday morning, Dalai Lama and fellow Noble Peace Laureate Mohamed ElBaradei along with former US Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young, will participate in a panel discussion on ‘The Arab Spring.’ A panel discussion on ‘Shifting the Global Consciousness’ is scheduled in the afternoon and Human Rights advocate Martin Luther King III will attend the discussion.

The event, which is being produced and sponsored by World Harmony Productions is aimed at bringing ‘together international thought leaders, the SU campus and the greater Syracuse community in critical conversations about how to shift global consciousness toward matters of peace.’ The Tuesdays’ programs will be a treat to the ears, as the world’s greatest musicians will feature on one stage at the ‘One World Concert’.

The opening speech will once again by His Holiness. He will give a public talk on ‘Resolving Conflict in One World Community Through Global Consciousness.’ The music concert will feature who’s who of music industry including Academy Award Winner A.R.Rahman, Roberta Flack, David Crosby and Nelly Furtado among others. “What makes this a remarkable and historic event is the diversity of great artists sharing their message of peace, love, and compassion with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The gathering of such artists singing a special song in the name of His Holiness has never occurred before,” said Lama Tenzin Dhonden, personal peace emissary of Dalai Lama. The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso is a charismatic speaker who will also be visiting five other states as part of his U.S. tour.
