Michigan State Professor Strips in Class
ByWhen Nietzsche said 'God is Dead,' he did not see it necessary to strip naked to posit his view in front of the world. But, Archimedes did choose to run naked shouting 'Eureka!' on the streets of Syracuse.
In a bizarre but similar incident, a calculus professor at the Michigan State University who appears to be a unlikely conglomerate of these two, reportedly stripped naked in the class and ran down the hallway shouting, "God is f***ing dead," reports Huffington Post.
The university statement says that a 911 call was made to the local police dispatch at 1:07 p.m. Monday, 'about a man in the Michigan State University Engineering Building shouting in the hallway.'
The student comments on reddit, mentions the professor's name. But, the university has refused to identify the man, though they have confirmed that the episode involves a professor.
He is not charged with any crime, but has been taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital.
A Reddit user shared a cell phone grainy image of the professor leaning against the wall with the comment, "My math teacher just stripped naked during class and was arrested! Go MSU!"
A user called TheCookieKing, who claims to be a student of the class where the profession broke down, gave his account of the story:
"I was in Calc 1 at Michigan State University, and my teacher was always pretty eccentric, but today he went overboard. Half way through class, he started screaming at us -- swearing left and right. He then started slamming his hands on the window and pressing his face against it, still screaming. Eventually he walked out and down the hallway to the end, all while screaming. He then came back into the classroom and took off his clothes, except for his socks."
"We were literally scared for our lives. The police took about 15 minutes to get here, and during this time he continued walking around screaming."
The reason behind the professor's sudden mental breakdown is not known as of yet, but a comment on the Reddit page by the same user says, "Police just gave me some insider information, apparently he smoked meth before class. So that explains that."
University has offered psychological assistance to everyone who witnessed the episode.
