The Florida Gators (11) grabbed the nation's attention with their 38-10 dismantling of Ole Miss, but head coach Jim McElwain believes this weeks matchup with the Missouri Tigers is the real test.
In his weekly press conference, the coach referenced The Cyrkle's 1966 hit "Red Rubber Ball" when wondering if his Gators would be remembered the same way, as a one-hit wonder. Missouri has won the SEC East two years in a row while Florida went 11-15 during that stretch.

"I'm kind of interested to see if our team is a one-hit wonder," McElwain told reporters, according to ESPN. "You know, like Cyrkle, 'Red Rubber Ball'... I mean, how many hits have they had? They had one. They're a one-hit wonder. I don't think we are, but we'll find out this week if we're a one-hit wonder."
With 34.4 points per game, Florida has one of the higher scoring offenses in the SEC, but Missouri's 12 points allowed per game is the best in the conference. McElwain is looking forward to seeing how his team handles the challenge.
"Excited for where we're at," he said. "At the same time, it'll be really interesting to see how we handle the praise from all the people that said they weren't worth a hill of beans. People rubbing their bellies and making them feel good. Yeah, they should get their bellies rubbed.
"I mean, they've done a good job. And yet how do you handle it? It'll be interesting."
