When it comes to his Heisman hopeful running back, LSU head football coach Les Miles is not interested in hypotheticals.

Leonard Fournette will not be able to join the NFL Draft next spring due to the league's rules for prospective entrants. However, several analysts and college football observers believe Fournette will be ready to play football professionally even now.

More than just his imposing six-foot-one, 230-pound frame, Fournette is as complete a running back as any in college football. But more importantly still - especially for players at his position - he is in good health. For those reasons, some have speculated that Fournette should sit out next season to preserve his health and NFL Draft stock.

According to ESPN, Miles addressed such speculation on his weekly radio show on Wednesday.

"To me, there's a lot of people out there stirring the pot," he said. "Just, let's make controversy. Why not? OK? I can't imagine that Leonard would be sitting anywhere inactive for a fall. I just can't possibly imagine it."

Fournette also took to his Twitter account recently and stated he "will never jump ship," apparently referring to the notion of preserving his health by sitting out a full season.

Through three games in his sophomore season, Fournette has 631 yards and eight touchdowns on 73 carries. In his entire freshman season, he had 1,034 yards and 10 touchdowns on 187 carries.

"I think there's a lot of speculation and a lot of conversation that speaks to 'what if' for someone else," Miles said. "The reality of it is Leonard is a squared-away guy. He'll do the right thing. I'm for him. And what if somebody else made the decision? That would be the only 'what if' that I'd have a real issue with: 'What if somebody just talked enough to make a mess?' I don't know. That's another 'what if.'"
