One of the nation's top power forwards in the class of 2016 committed verbally to play basketball at Duke University.

Javin DeLaurier told ESPN.com he gave his verbal commitment to Duke and its head men's basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski. DeLaurier initially planned his trip to Durham for Oct., but moved it up to this past weekend.

"It's the best fit for me on and off the floor," he said. "I love everything about it.

"I know that's where I wanted to go."

DeLaurier ranks 44th on the 2016 ESPN 100 and ninth among power forwards in his class. 247 Sports gave him 0.9829 composite rating. Evaluators love that DeLaurier is improving rapidly, but was already considered an all-round talent at his position.

He is athletic, plays hard, and is a complete scorer with the ability to shoot as well as drive to the basket. His athleticism and natural ability also gives him a high ceiling as a defender.

DeLaurier is also Duke's third 2016 ESPN 100 commit, joining five-star shooting guard Frank Jackson five-star small forward Jayson Tatum, the second overall prospect. Additionally, Duke is pursuing Harry Giles, a power forward ranked first overall in the 2016 ESPN 100.

Apparently aware of Duke's push to establish another top tier recruiting class, DeLaurier told ESPN.com, "We're not done yet."
