The Michigan Wolverines are looking to do something they have not accomplished since early on in the 2013 season: string together more than two consecutive wins.

On the other sideline is a BYU Cougars (22) team trying to stay in the AP Top 25 and avoid consecutive losses. BYU has seemed to be a team of destiny through its first two games, and almost pulled off an upset on the road last weekend against UCLA.

Michigan will not be concerned with competing for the Big Ten, or for the College Football Playoff, as Jim Harbaugh's rebuilding effort is still in its infancy. But the Wolverines could give their fan base a major boost by beating a ranked opponent at home, especially since the team's next two home games are against Northwestern (17) and Michigan State (2).

Michigan will likely have to rely heavily on its rushing attack, as BYU has been particularly adept at securing interceptions and since the Wolverines' starting QB has already thrown five picks.

"We don't ever talk about any running back controversy - just so you know - from here on out," Harbaugh told reporters, according to ESPN. "Quarterback controversy, I'll address that. Whenever you want to know who the starting quarterback is, I will talk to you about that."

What's more is BYU struggled against the run against UCLA, providing Michigan with additional incentive to run the ball.

"That was terrible. I think we're a better team than that," BYU defensive lineman Graham Rowley said in his pregame comments. "But, it was a teaching moment for us that we need to learn how to tackle and wrap up and finish. It's kind of a blessing that it happened to us, even though it's disguised as a failure. We can do better, and we will do better."
