The LSU Tigers (14) are one of very few college football teams to not play last week, which could ultimately give them an advantage against The Mississippi State Bulldogs (25).

Hosting the Tigers, Mississippi State will have little useful tape to study its opponent's starting quarterback, sophomore Brandon Harris. Though he will not be the focal point of LSU's offense, he understands how his inconsistency and lack of substantial playing time could play into his favor.

"If it's an advantage for us, if it's going to help us win, absolutely," Harris said in a pregame press conference, according to ESPN.

Mississippi State will have to focus on stopping LSU running back Leonard Fournette, an early favorite for the Heisman Trophy. But LSU's defense will also have to stop a Heisman hopeful in the Bulldogs' QB, Dak Prescott. He threw for 237 yards and ran for 72 last week against Southern Miss, accumulating three touchdowns.

"We got a chance to go out there and fix our wrinkles and kinks, knock some of the rust off, especially me and my passing performance," ESPN quoted Prescott telling reporters in his pregame press conference. "We've got that stuff out of the way. We know what we've got and the people we can count on. I think it's a whole lot better coming into a game like this."
