After an unceremonious exit from USC, Lane Kiffin's decision to accept the offensive coordinator position on Nick Saban's staff at Alabama led to head coach offers after season.

According to AL.com, Kiffin discussed the decision to refuse all the job offers before him to stay at Alabama another season. He indicated he feels like he has not accomplished what he set out to by taking the job.

"Until the end of the year when those things happen, I don't think about it," Kiffin told reporters Sunday. "You sign the contract and go to work and worry about that stuff afterwards. So the calls that come, obviously you're going to listen to them. But I just really felt that we had done so many good things in Year 1, but this chapter wasn't over yet. There's still so many things to learn from coach [Saban]."

Kiffin gave Alabama's ground-and-pound offense a new look last season, utilizing standout wide receiver Amari Cooper as a lethal deep threat. But Alabama's running game was still dangerous with running backs T.J. Yeldon and Derrick Henry sharing carries and quarterback Blake Sims tucking and running every so often.

Now Sims, Yeldon, and Cooper have moved on from Alabama, leaving Kiffin with Henry in the backfield, Jacob Coker behind center, and a young receiving core.

"I feel like a sophomore now where last year you're a freshman just trying to figure it out, trying to get the scripts ready, get to practice and stuff," Kiffin told reporters. "Now you really start to understand how and why [Saban] does it and why it's so successful."
