Athletics are deeply ingrained in the college experience with athletic complexes right on campus and (competitive) teams being a huge source of school pride.

According to The Princeton Review, these schools' students attend athletic events more than any other.

1. Clemson University

2. Pennsylvania State University

Location: State College, Penn.

Acceptance rate: 50 percent

Sport to watch: You can't go wrong with football or basketball, as the Nittany Lions play in the Big Ten, an NCAA Division I Power Conference. That said, the women's volleyball team is legendary, having been to the NCAA Tournament every year since 1980 and winning it seven times since.

3. University of Kansas

Location: Lawrence, Kan.

Sport to watch: Men's basketball. The Jayhawks are one of the most consistently great teams in the NCAA, winning the Big 12's regular season title 11 years running. Incoming freshmen are highly likely to watch coach Bill Self field a great team all four years they attend KU.

4. University of Iowa
