Texas A&M Football New Uniforms: Tried and True All-Black Look Will Debut on Halloween
ByThe all-black alternative uniform has been done many times in football, and in other sports as well, but Adidas found a way to freshen the concept for the Texas A&M Aggies.
Playing in College Station on Halloween this year, Texas A&M will feature a festive look: a black jersey, black pants, and a black helmet, complete with dark accents. The school revealed the uniforms, named the "Aggie Nights Primeknit" alternates in a press release Friday.
Texas A&M is hosting South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 31.
"This innovative helmet features all-new reflective technology to light up the night," Texas A&M's athletic department said in its release. "The black jersey and pants are highlighted with silver metallic numbers and stripes with carbon-fiber detailing, while the 'Texas A&M' moniker is featured in metallic maroon lettering with carbon-fiber detailing across the chest. Additionally, the Lone Star Logo is also incorporated into the pant stripes, creating a cohesive signature look.
"Made with a cutting-edge, proprietary yarn blend that increases durability and abrasion resistance, Primeknit is the premier compression uniform system, featuring the latest generation of Adidas TECHFIT technology."
The Aggie Nights Primeknit is the second one-off alternate uniform Adidas unveiled this offseason. Adidas previously revealed an all-black uniform, with red accents, for Nebraska, to be worn on Saturday, Oct. 24.
