The Maui Jim Maui Invitational unveiled its annual men's basketball invitational bracket, highlighted by Kansas, Indiana, and UCLA.
As ESPN noted, Kansas and Indiana were placed on opposite sides of the bracket and represent an intriguing potential finals matchup, should they both make it.
The eight team lineup also includes Chaminade, St. John's, UNLV, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest. Kansas is coming off winning the World University Games, and will open against Chaminade and play either UNLV or UCLA if they advance.
The tournament runs from Nov. 23 to 25 and will be held in Maui, Hawaii. But there are also Opening Games in various locations around the U.S. from Nov. 13 to 16, followed by Regional Games from Nov. 21 to 22.
Kansas figures to be favored to win the tournament, as they will be the favorites in the Big 12 due to returning players like Perry Ellis, Frank Mason and Wayne Selden, as well as a strong incoming recruiting class. Placed on the other side of the board, Indiana is the likely second-favorite of the tournament, also returning a core of vital players.
St. John's will be worth watching, as it will be the nation's introduction to alum-turned-head-coach Chris Mullen. If they can get by Vanderbilt, they figure to face Indiana in the second round if the Hoosiers advance as well.
