The University of Nebraska's athletic department unveiled new alternate uniforms for the Cornhuskers football team, also announcing when fans can expect to see them on display.

Made by Adidas, the Primeknit Husker Bold alternative uniforms will debut on Sat., Oct. 24 for Nebraska's home game against Northwestern. The school described the uniforms as "the perfect blend of style and technology for elite performance."

The uniforms will be all black with red accents, which include an "N" logo in the midst of dual racing stripes down the side of the pants. The "N" logo reappears on the helmet and apparently spans the chest and torso of an undershirt as well.

In addition to the new uniforms, Adidas is also providing new pads aiming at making the Cornhuskers' ball carriers harder to tackle by being more form fitting. Complete with the new uniforms will be Adidas' Adizero 5-Star 4.0 cleats, which the company boasts is lighter than any competitor's product.

Nebraska is 6-2 against Northwestern dating back to their first matchup in 1902. The two only started playing regularly when Nebraska joined the Big Ten in 2011 and the Huskers have won three straight against Northwestern since losing in that first year.
