Often overlooked but nonetheless integral to the team, kickers do not typically make headlines for announcing their college commitment.

But Quinn Nordin did.

247 Sports' top-ranked kicker, Nordin posted a 28-second music video to his Twitter account to announce that he had chosen Penn State over his hometown school, Michigan, and others.

While five-star skill position players are the ones who typically announce their decisions at press conferences and public events, special teams players often get more creative. Take "Kickalicious" for example, a kicker from Norway whose real name is Håvard Rugland.

His YouTube video of trick shots gained more than five million views and even got him tryouts with NFL teams. Rugland ultimately signed with the Detroit Lions, but was cut before the regular season.

Nordin also has a YouTube video, albeit less flashy and less seen. Just 30 seconds long, Nordin recorded himself hitting field goals at distances of 45, 50 and 55 yards through arena football goal posts, which are narrower than usual.

Nordin told 247 Sports he chose Penn State because they were the first Power Five school to offer him a scholarship. He wound up with offers from Arizona State, Georgia, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State and Pittsburgh.

"The coaching staff was just off the charts awesome," Nordin said. "They've always been with me, on my side, helping me out and keeping the faith in me. That means a lot to me, it really does. They were in my first 10 offers and they stuck around for a while, which means a lot to my family. They've always been right by us, keeping us in the loop and they've been awesome."

Penn State previously secured a commitment from Blake Gillikin, 247 Sports' top-ranked punter, as well.
