New Horizons may still have plenty of ground to cover in its final two weeks before flying by Pluto, but the spacecraft is already making first-time discoveries of the dwarf planet.

According to NBC News, New Horizons snapped color photos of Pluto that show strange black spots near its equator that seem to all be the same size and evenly spaced from one another. Researchers have been analyzing images of Pluto thanks to New Horizons' Long Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI), but this is a new find.
