More than 500 million years ago, a tiny, yet fearsome looking worm roamed the Earth in a time when many animals were only just starting to evolve.
According to Live Science, authors of a study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences detailed Collinsium ciliosum, a worm with 30 legs measuring no more than four inches in length.
It lived 518 million years ago during the Cambrian Explosion and had spikes all over its body acting like armor. The rear 18 of its 30 legs were clawed, which would have helped the worm dig in when eating while the front 12 helped it gather its food.
