One of the top men's basketball recruits in the class of 2016 committed to Michigan State, adding another piece to an already strong group.

Langford confirmed his decision to ESPN, saying he chose the Spartans over hometown schools like Auburn and Alabama. Langford was also considering Duke, Georgia, Arizona, Kentucky, Stanford, Mississippi State and Texas.

An imposing six-foot-six, 200-pound shooting guard with high offensive aptitude, Langford ranks 13th overall on the ESPN 100, the second-best at his position. ESPN evaluators also believe his size, "basketball IQ" and physicality will make him a strong defender.

247 Sports and Rivals agree that Langford is a five-star prospect and one of the best guards in the class of 2016. He is billed a wing guard, but his size should allow him to play small forward as well.

"I did a lot of praying and consulting with God about it. Michigan State had been there since I was a freshman," Langford told ESPN. "I just felt a connection with head coach Tom Izzo more than any other coach I talked to on the phone or spoke with in person."

Izzo already secured a commitment from Nick Ward, a four-star center who ranks 42nd overall on the ESPN 100.
