College Football Betting Odds for Conference Championships Released, CG Technologies Sports Book
ByIn newly released odds for college football's Power Five conference championships, the SEC lives up to its unofficial title as the most competitive league.
According to ESPN, CG Technology's sports book released their betting odds for conference championships Monday. The company operates sports books at Las Vegas casinos including the Venetian, Cosmopolitan, Palms, M Resort and others.
Though the odds were only for the conference championships, the SEC's western division alone boasts several College Football Playoff contenders. The SEC's odds were the closes of all the Power Five conferences.
Alabama was slightly favored over the rest at 5-2, but they were followed Auburn at 15-4 and Georgia at 5-1. LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee followed at 8-1 each. Last season's surprise team, Mississippi State found itself eight places from the top and five from the bottom, with their odds currently sitting at 12-1.
Even with Jameis Winston in the NFL, Florida State is favored to win the ACC with 5-2 odds, followed by Clemson at 3-1, Georgia Tech at 4-1 and Louisville tied with Virginia Tech at 8-1.
Like Florida State, Oregon is favored to win their conference despite the departure of their Heisman winning QB. The Ducks are favored at 9-4 odds, slightly edging the resurgent USC at 11-4. Stanford and UCLA trail at 5-1 apiece.
After voting to continue not having conference championship game, the Big 12's favorite to win the title is TCU at 17-10, followed by their co-champion from last season, Baylor, at 5-2. Oklahoma follows at 4-1, followed by Oklahoma State at 5-1 and Texas 7-1.
CG Technologies pegged the Big Ten as the most lopsided conference in the nation, favoring a loaded Ohio State team to win the title at 1-2 odds. Michigan State followed at 13-4. Wisconsin had 8-1 odds, followed by Michigan and Nebraska at 12-1.
CG Technologies favored Ohio State to repeat as National Champions at 14-5 odds, ESPN reported, followed by the team they beat last season, Alabama, whose odds are 17-2.
