After signing with Florida to play for coach Billy Donovan, Noah Dickerson wanted to see who the school would hire when he left for the NBA.
According to ESPN, the four-star forward out of Montverde Academy asked to be release from his scholarship following the school's hiring of Michael White as head men's basketball coach. Dickerson ranks 51st overall on the ESPN 100 recruiting list and ninth among power forwards.
Dickerson, who originally committed to Georgetown in June changing to Florida in Aug., told ESPN of his decision to ask for a release only days after White's introduction in Gainesville.
Also a signee at Florida, KeVaughn Allen is also expected to ask for his release, whereas Keith Stone Kevarrius Hayes will seemingly stay put.
With a vast majority of the ESPN 100 prospects signed or committed, Dickerson and Allen would immediately become intriguing recruits. Only Caleb Swanigan, a center, and Tevin Mack, a small forward, are currently not committed anywhere.
Dickerson, a power forward, and Allen, a shooting guard, would immediately become the top recruits at their position and could supplement almost any recruiting class. In addition to his Georgetown decision and subsequent de-commitment, Dickerson was also considering Auburn, Georgia and Ohio State, among other schools. Among Allen's other considered teams were Arkansas, Baylor and Connecticut.
