Justin Anderson appears to be on the verge of forgoing his senior basketball season at the University of Virginia (UVA) to declare for the NBA Draft.

Citing unnamed sources, Adrian Wojnarowski reported for Yahoo Sports that Anderson is currently arranging meetings with prospective agents. As long as he does not hire one, Wojnarowski noted, he could change his mind and return to UVA ahead of the April 26 deadline.

Anderson, a six-foot-six guard/forward, averaged 12 points and four assists per game for the Cavaliers, who spent most of the season ranked second in the nation behind Kentucky. However, they went into the NCAA Tournament as a two-seed and were eliminated by Michigan State.

Anderson suffered a fractured pinkie finger and had an appendectomy this season, causing him to miss a number of games. But multiple NBA executives told Wojnarowski Anderson can quell any injury concerns with a solid pre-draft workout.

DraftExpress.com and USA Today's the Big Lead project Anderson as a either a late first-round selection or one of the first few picks in the second round. While he may not be seen as a difference-making prospect right away, Anderson has displayed athleticism and versatility in his game as well as a terrific work ethic.

Despite his injury-shortened season, Anderson also earned third-team All-America honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

As of Monday afternoon, Anderson indicated on his Twitter account that he had heard the reports of his NBA Draft declaration and wittily declined to comment.
