The North Carolina Tar Heels (4) and the Wisconsin Badgers (1) will face off at the Staples Center in a West region matchup for the NCAA Tournament.

The top-seeded Badgers (33-3) and the fourth-seeded Tar Heels (26-11) are meeting in the NCAA Tournament for the second time since 2006. The winner of this game will play either #2 Arizona Wildcats or #6 Xavier Musketeers in the Elite 8 Saturday.

Both teams are heading into this Sweet 16 matchup with injuries: UNC Forward Kennedy Meeks sprained his left knee in a game against Arkansas that got the Tar Heels into the final 16 and Wisconsin guard Traevon Jackson has missed 18 consecutive games since breaking his right foot in a loss at Rutgers on Jan. 11, ESPN reported.

Meeks may hit the court this evening, though he didn't do much during the open practice Wednesday.

"I'm doing pretty well," Meeks, who is averaging 11.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, told ESPN. "I'm jumping a little bit more and trying to do all the right things so I can take care of my knee."

Jackson's status is still up in the air, but it sounds like he will make a comeback tonight.

"I've been playing this game for too long to have nervousness on the court," he told the Associated Press. "It's a joy to be back on the court."

With only three losses this season, the Wisconsin Badgers is the favorite. The Tar Heels hasn't been this far in a NCAA Tourney since 2012.
