Both the UAB Blazers (14) and UCLA Bruins (11) made headlines in their Round of 64 upset wins, though the latter's was far more scrutinized.

UAB took down Iowa State, a highly touted in the NCAA Tournament, behind Robert Brown's 21 points. UCLA advanced past SMU thanks to a goaltending call on an off-balance three-point attempt from Bryce Alford that seemed destined to miss.

These two teams played all the way back on Nov. 28, an 88-76 win for UCLA. Limited to two points, Brown will be looking forward to his team's second crack at the Bruins.

"We do have a little payback for them, and we want to play them," he said in a pregame press conference, according to the Associated Press.

UCLA saw its fair share of scrutiny before even playing SMU, with several experts questioning their seeding and suggesting it was due to their storied past in the tourney.

"This team has dealt with a lot of adversity, a lot of criticism for the games we've played in," UCLA guard Norman Powell said in his pregame remarks. "Something we've all done is believed in one another, believed the team... We know what we can do, and we've just got to go out there and perform.

"We know they're a great team... We know we're a great team. So it's going to be fun to play them again."
