The Northeastern Huskies (14) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3) are tipping off the 2015 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Technically the two teams are the fifth the game of the tourney, as the First Four decided the board's last remaining slots. But for all intents and purposes, the "second round" is the real start to the Big Dance.

Notre Dame is coming off a 29-5 campaign in which they won the ACC Tournament title, knocking off Duke and North Carolina en route. It was the first conference title game the Irish had even been in since 2009.

As the team's coach, Mike Brey has become accustomed to not getting anywhere in the NCAA Tournament.

"I don't lose a lot of sleep on it, maybe because I'm an older coach now and I have a great contract," he said in a pregame press conference, according to the Associated Press. "But I do feel, going in, this group has the makings of being different because of how they played the regular season."

Northeastern is fresh off winning the CAA Tournament, but they too have an underwhelming history in the Big Dance. At 3-7 in tournament play, Northeastern is looking to make a big splash out of the gate.

"I have a lot of respect for Bill Coen, their coach, and how they play, especially on the offensive end. This is your typical mid-major team. I had a couple of them at Delaware, older guys that know how to play together and have won together for a while," Brey said. "I told our guys, it's like an ACC game. We have to prepare like it's an ACC game."
