A spring break trip to Florida was cut short for Dak Prescott and two Mississippi State football teammates after they were jumped.
According to the Clarion-Ledger, the three players left Panama City, Fla. to return to Starkville, Miss. after their injuries were determined to not warrant a hospital trip. Assaulted were the Bulldogs' starting quarterback Dak Prescott, backup quarterback Damian Williams and defensive lineman Torrey Dale.
Bill Martin, a spokesman for Mississippi State University, only said Prescott and his teammates did not instigate the attackers, declining to comment much further. Martin told ESPN Prescott "took the brunt of" the attack, as photos reached the Internet showing several lacerations to the QB's face and upper body.
ESPN also reported reaching Dak's brother, Tad, via text message. Tad said his brother is "fine." All three Bulldogs football players posted to Twitter Monday night, each indicating they are feeling fine.
The Clarion-Ledger noted news of the attack apparently broke on an MSU Bulldogs online forum, with a user named "Coach34" saying Prescott was hit in the head with a bottle. Other news outlets also confirmed the three players were at Panama City Beach for a Waka Flocka concert.
SB Nation's MSU Bulldogs site obtained a gruesome photo of Prescott's face just after the attack. Though Prescott is reportedly not pressing charges, multiple news outlets compiled tweets from the people who apparently attacked the MSU football players.
As evidence in their messages, they apparently took to Twitter after the assault to brag about "beating up MSU football players."
