The Apple Watch, which was first unveiled in September, will be the first new product line from the technology giant sinceApple revealed new details about its much anticipated new watch, which will be a major play in the wearable devices market. the introduction of the iPad in 2010 and the death of Steve Jobs a year later, USA Today reported.

"This is the most personal device we've ever created," Apple CEO Tim Cook told the crowd at a press event in San Francisco. "It's not just with you, it's on you."

Apple's wearable device is essentially a miniature computer with a touchscreen that is worn around the wrist. The watch face is customizable, giving users the ability to add the date, weather, their next meeting and other informational indicators on the face, Mashable reported.

The smartwatch also comes with many features. There's a built-in microphone and speaker that lets users make calls via the watch without having to pull out their phone, and the devices has a "taptic engine" that can vibrate a users wrist to let them know about an incoming call, text or notification.

Users can activate Siri and execute demands, like creating reminders and checking the weather, by pressing the watch's crown. In addition to being Siri-compatible, the Apple Watch also relays notifications from the user's iPhone, letting them keep track of events as they happen.

The device will come in three distinct collections, including an upscale line coated in 18-Karat Gold yellow and rose gold, and a sports collection.

"Apple Watch is the most personal device we've ever created," Cook said at a launch event in Cupertino, Calif., when he first unveiled the watch in September. "It's incredibly customizable so you can find one that reflects your personal style and taste. Because you wear it we invented new intimate ways to connect and communicate directly from your wrist and it works seamlessly with iPhone."

The smartwatch starts at $349, with the higher-end Edition model starting at $10,000.

Apple Watch goes on sale on April 24. Pre-orders for the device start April 10.
