As the Kentucky Wildcats (1) close in on completing an undefeated regular season, visiting the Georgia Bulldogs Tuesday night, their offensive output has been getting better.

Kentucky had posted 80- and 90-point outbursts throughout the season, but their last three points totals have been consistently high at 84, 74 and 110. As they are hitting their stride offensively, they have been able to maintain their iron-tough defense that is allowing just 53 points per game.

The game could be highly important for Georgia, a team that has not been in the NCAA Tournament since 2011. Currently on the fringe of getting in, toppling the Wildcats would all but secure their spot. But losing would probably not hurt their effort.

After losing to the Wildcats Saturday, the Associated Press kept Arkansas at the 18th spot in their Top 25 poll.

"In the eyes of the NCAA selection committee, I think that Kansas and (North) Carolina will likely get in the tournament. Well, they couldn't beat Kentucky," Georgia coach Mark Fox told reporters Monday in Athens, according to the AP. "Georgia doesn't have to beat Kentucky to go to the NCAA tournament. Because if that was the standard, a lot of teams wouldn't go. But that's not what we're concerned about. We're concerned about playing the best basketball we can because it is a special opportunity. They've got a great, great team. Their team should be celebrated."

Kentucky beat Georgia 69-58 at home on Feb. 3, but most of their close-call wins have come on the road. If they can get by Georgia, Kentucky will go for perfection at home against Florida, one of those close-call road wins.
