Allied American University will provide more opportunities for working professionals looking to enhance their skills.

The for-profit institution received financial aid approval today from the Department of Education for its certificate programs. The program allows individuals with or without degrees who are looking to improve or change their career, to gain knowledge on a particular topic of interest.

The university's multi-course certificate programs are designed for students who are looking to excel in the areas of Business, Finance, Management, Marketing, Office Management, Homeland Security, Private Security, Computer Applications, Computer Programming, IT Management, Web Design, Medical Administrative Assisting, Medical Billing, Medical Coding, and Pharmacy Technician.

"In order to remain competitive in the workplace, it is extremely important that professionals have the chance to learn a new skill or build upon their current skill set," Allied American University Chief Enrollment Management Officer Lindsay Oglesby said in a statement. "We are very excited that AAU students now have the ability to use financial aid towards these shorter, career specific programs that can increase growth potential and help them achieve their long-term career goals."

In addition to the aforementioned certificate programs, Allied American University provides bachelor's and associate degree programs specifically designed for "today's adult learner," according to school officials. Active military (Tuition Assistance), veterans (Post 9/11 GI Bill), and military spouse (MyCAA) benefits can be applied to all degree and certificate programs at Allied American University. Textbook grants are also available for military and veteran students.
