The Duke Blue Devils (4) are trying to avoid losing three in a row, which should prove to be difficult on the road against the Louisville Cardinals (6).

In their upset losses to Miami and NC State, the first two of Duke's season, the Blue Devils' strong offense did not look quite so dangerous, scoring 75 and 74, respectively. But the defense was even more suspect, allowing 87 and 90 points in those games.

"I just have felt since Christmas that there's something missing with our group, and I've said it," Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said in his postgame news conference after losing to Miami, according to the Associated Press. "I've said it to the press, I've said it to my team. And when you're still winning, you don't necessarily believe it completely. But I've felt it since Christmas, and I haven't been able to figure that out, figure out how to change it.

"We're all on the same page now, after two losses and after getting our butt beat. We didn't just lose tonight. We got our butts beat tonight."

Louisville also suffered an upset this week, losing to UNC, but the Cardinals rebounded in beating Virginia Tech. Duke needs to get back on track, as the tougher part of their ACC conference schedule is still ahead of them, with games remaining against Virginia, UNC and Notre Dame.
