Now that Apple has dramatically increased the size of the iPhone's screen, it seems beyond the appropriate time to overhaul the handset's camera.
According to a report from the Taiwanese website UDN, obtained by Apple Insider, the tentatively named "iPhone 6S" will come with at least two fresh features. For one, the handset will reportedly have a dual-lens camera system and the Force Touch technology featured with the Apple Watch.
The iPhone has been left behind in terms of camera capabilities and one aspect that Apple is addressing is lowlight picture taking. The dual lens camera system would expectedly remedy that issue. Apple may not have upped the megapixels in the iPhone's camera in years, but they have added sensors and an image stabilization sensor that has brought the handset's camera much praise.
If the new report holds true, then Apple may well have one of, if not the, best smartphone cameras on the market.
As for the Force Touch feature, UDN did not believe the iPhone 6S would not utilize that technology to be able to read a user's pulse or blood pressure. Instead, the handset's touch screen would be able to differentiate between a tap and prolonged hold.
Of course, current iPhone's can already do this for deleting and moving apps around the home screen. But with Force Touch, different touches on the screen can be assigned to other commands as well.
