The Kentucky Wildcats are no longer the unanimous number one team in the nation, but they are still number one.

In week 10 of the Associated Press' Top 25 Poll, Kentucky lost two of its first place votes to the Virginia Cavaliers (2), who moved up one spot to replace Duke (4). Gonzaga leapt three placed to third Villanova rose three as well to claim fifth overall.

At this point in the season, Kentucky and Virginia stand alone as undefeated and nationally ranked. Kentucky has been the top team every week this season and were the preseason number one, while they spent five weeks grabbing all first-place votes.

The conference schedule was supposed to be when Kentucky's scheduled got easier, as Arkansas is the only other ranked SEC team and they do not meet until Feb. 28. However, they went to overtime against Ole Miss and two overtimes against Texas A&M.

Zach Osterman was one of the voters to place Virginia first on their ballots along with John Feinstein. Osterman wrote for the Indianapolis Star that weekly rankings are "not a final statement."

"While Kentucky needed three total overtimes to put away two teams - Ole Miss and Texas A&M -decidedly outside the NCAA tournament picture at the moment, Virginia went to Notre Dame, made the Irish play their way and won," he wrote. "Virginia is playing better basketball right now. Virginia is, in my eyes, the better team right now."

The week that was in college basketball was highlighted by upsets, as N.C. State took down Duke and UNC (15) beat Louisville (6). Texas (20), on the other hand, fell 10 places after losing two upsets, to Oklahoma (18) and Oklahoma State (24).

With Ohio State, St. John's and Old Dominion leaving the ranking, Northern Iowa (23), Oklahoma State and Wyoming (25) entered.
