The Kentucky Wildcats (1) beat Kansas, Texas and UNC by double digits, down Louisville by eight, but it was Ole Miss that was the first team to take the unanimous number one team to overtime.

Louisville was even the only team in Kentucky's non-conference schedule to lose by less than 10 and they did what only four other teams had done: score at least 50. But Ole Miss took a lead into halftime, got to overtime and wound up losing 89-86.

According to ESPN, Kentucky is the only ranked SEC team and the Texas A&M Aggies likely does not posses whatever it would take to mount an upset over the Wildcats. Though few gave Ole Miss even a small amount of hope either.

But Kentucky has to lose some time, right? Only seven times has a men's college basketball team completed an undefeated season, including the NCAA Tournament. But no one has done it since 1976, before the field was expanded to 64 teams, and four of those unbeaten teams were UCLA Bruins squads coached by John Wooden.

Saturday may be the bounce-back game for Kentucky, as Wildcats freshman forward called the Ole Miss game a "wake up call."

"It was definitely a wake-up call for all of us, I think," he told the Kentucky athletic department's official website. "They're going to come out and play that much harder against us. It's SEC play now, very physical. I'd say it was the most physical game we played so far this year and we're going to get every team's best shot so we just have to be prepared for it."
