LSU seems to be a possible transfer destination for two of college football's biggest names at quarterback, but probably will not be for both.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported Monday that Everett Golson, currently at Notre Dame, contacted LSU about a potential transfer for his final season of NCAA eligibility. Golson improved on his 2012 campaign in 2014, as he missed all of 2013 due to an academic suspension, but the Irish lost four in a row to end their season before their Music City Bowl win over LSU.

If he stays at Notre Dame, Golson will likely need to once again win his starting position from Malik Zaire, a promising QB going into his sophomore season. Both QBs played against LSU, but Zaire threw and ran for more yards, had a better completion percentage and scored twice.

Also bound to be in a competition to be the starting QB, Miller has also been linked to possibly transferring to LSU, WAFB reported Tuesday morning. Citing unnamed sources the station said "there is a likely scenario" where Miller transfers to LSU.

Miller missed the entire season due to a shoulder injury he aggravated before taking a meaningful snap. In his stead J.T. Barrett led the Buckeyes to a one-loss season and a Big Ten Championship berth. But when Barrett broke his ankle in the team's season finale, Cardale Jones stepped up to deliver the conference title and beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Barrett is a dual-threat freshman while Jones is a big, pocket-passing sophomore and both offer Urban Meyer and Ohio State big upside. Meyer said in a recent news conference that he expects Miller to be back at Ohio State, the Big Ten Network reported.

However, that seems unrealistic given the school's abundance of talented QBs.

LSU is coming off an 8-5 season in which they went 4-4 against the SEC. If the NCAA were to clear either Golson or Miller to play immediately upon transferring, LSU may be a dangerous team next season.

With Leonard Fournette emerging at running back, one of LSU's biggest weaknesses was at QB. Miller or Golson could either buy development time for Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris or put pressure on them to fight for the starting position.
