The Georgia Bulldogs (13) come into the Belk Bowl in good shape, all told, but Todd Gurley's absence could have the team wondering what could have been this season.

They will face the Louisville Cardinals (21), who are still looking to take the next step after a couple successful seasons. With Bobby Petrino back as coach, after Charlie Strong departed for Texas, the Cardinals are looking to win their third straight bowl game.

Georgia lost Gurley, their running back who was a preseason Heisman Watch candidate, in the middle of their 9-3 season to an NCAA suspension for accepting cash for his autograph on multiple items. Shortly after returning, Gurley tore his ACL and missed the remainder of the season.

What Georgia did not account for was freshman running back Nick Chubb stepping up to fill Gurley's role to the fullest. Chubb rushed for 1,281 yards and 12 touchdowns on 186 carries, leading the team to eagerly await a Gurley - Chubb tandem, complimented by Sony Michel.

Despite all the adversity, Georgia finished 6-2 in the SEC and just missed representing the eastern division in the conference title game.

The Cardinals had one of the nation's best defenses this season, but ultimately came up short against the likes of Florida State and Clemson.

"Yeah, we want to get to 10 wins," Petrino said of his team, according to ESPN. "That's certainly something our seniors would be very proud of so they can look back at their career and see the double-digit winning seasons they've had."

Louisville suffered all three of its losses to ACC teams, but there is certainly reason to believe the Cardinals can take their success to another level.
