Police were called to the apartment of Ohio State University (OSU) quarterback J.T. Barrett for a domestic dispute, but authorities were responding to two different 911 calls.

According to ABC 6 Columbus, both the true freshman QB and his girlfriend, Alexandria Barrett-Clark, 19, called 911 and gave different accounts of what happened. The dispute was Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with both parties alleging the other instigated the physical altercation.

A Columbus Police report shows that Barrett told responding officers that he asked his girlfriend to leave the apartment. After she did not do so, she "ran at him and pushed him" and hit him, prompting Barrett to push her onto the bed to subdue her.

Barrett-Clark said she was asked to leave, but told her boyfriend she would leave in the morning. But then Barrett became hostile and pushed her onto the bed, where he held her down with his forearm. Barrett-Clark said she got away and was able to call 911.

An OSU spokesman in the athletics department told Bruce Feldman the school is "aware of the situation & are gathering information." Neither Barrett nor Barrett-Clark have commented publicly on the incident.

There was one witness at the scene who acknowledged hearing the incident, but did not see what happened, the OSU Lantern reported. There have been no charges filed in wake of the incident and neither Barrett nor Barrett-Clark had any visible injuries.

Barrett recently had surgery to repair a broken ankle he suffered in OSU's football game against Michigan on Nov. 29. He was enjoying a standout season filling in for three-year starter Braxton Miller, who was out for the season with a shoulder injury. OSU is set to play for the Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Jan. 1.
