With the lack of a conference championship, the Big 12 will come down to the final week, as the Baylor Bears (6) take on the Kansas State Wildcats (9).

Hours earlier, TCU (3) will try to remain the highest-ranked Big 12 team and secure their place in the College Football Playoff (CFP). The Big 12 is apparently ready to name TCU and Baylor co-champions if they both win Saturday, though Baylor holds the head-to-head advantage.

Baylor, one of the nation's best passing offenses, will have quarterback Bryce Petty, who was cleared medically after suffering a mild concussion last weekend. Kansas State has a tough defense that figures to be stretched out by Baylor's air game.

"He was here (Sunday) and was feeling pretty good. He actually felt pretty good at the end of the game the other day," Baylor coach Art Briles told reporters, according to the Associated Press. "Of course he took a hard shot, clean shot. But I just saw him 10 minutes ago and he's fine. Smile on his face and determination in his heart."

Based on their conference record, Kansas State would also share the Big 12 title with TCU, though the latter holds a head-to-head advantage in that instance. If Iowa State manages to beat TCU, Kansas State and Baylor would be playing for the Big 12 title and maybe a CFP spot.

Kansas State is still reeling from their 2012 loss to Baylor. The Wildcats were undefeated with a Heisman frontrunner under center and an elite defense stifling their opponents when Baylor won big in Waco 52-24.

"I certainly think about it a lot. It left an indelible mark on me," defensive end Ryan Mueller told reporters. "It was definitely the most painful loss I've had here.

"That one hurt, big time."
