The only certainty that can come out of the SEC Championship game would be if the Alabama Crimson Tide (1) beats the Missouri Tigers (16), which would certainly lead to a College Football Playoff (CFP) berth.

The same may not be true for the Tigers, who figure to need a lot of help to make the CFP if they can manage a massive upset against the Tide. For Alabama, the task is simple: win and stay on top of the CFP committee's rankings.

The SEC West, the division Alabama won, once had three teams in the CFP's committee's top four, but now only the Tide remains. But Missouri is ranked behind other CFP hopefuls, making their potential bid difficult.

"I think we have an outstanding league and we have a lot of good teams and the fact that we play each other and end up beating each other probably hurts a little bit," Alabama coach Nick Saban said Sunday, according to the Associated Press. "I think some of the teams in our division are really, really good teams and I'm sure there are some other really good teams out there that I have not seen.

"Without looking at everyone, I would think that somebody in our league qualifies to be one of the better four teams in the country based on the quality of the league and the good teams that we all have to play."

Ohio State, Baylor and Arizona are all playing for their own respective conference championships, while Baylor will need to beat Kansas State to have a shot at being named the Big 12 champ. All four are ranked higher than Missouri.

Alabama boasts a balanced offensive attack with Blake Sims under center, Amari Cooper catching passes and T.J. Yeldon in the backfield. Missouri plays a similar game, but with less offensive firepower.
