Thomas Aquinas College in California will be offering a new two-year program in the Pretty Good Books, school officials announced.
The Roman Catholic liberal arts college is offering the new program to students whose minds are "not yet quite prepared for the good books, let alone the great ones," The Eye Of The Tiber reported. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for better literary works in history.
"I believe that our students are not only some of the most faithful students in the country, but they're also some of the brightest minds in the Church," Michael McLean, president of Thomas Aquinas College, told The Eye Of The Tiber. "But we're looking to be a little more inclusive now. We're looking for orthodox students who do not have bright minds, but nevertheless have the potential of becoming bright minds."
The new program will be composed of literary works that have "for good or for ill, kinda-sorta animated, for the lack of a better word, Western civilization," The Eye Of The Tiger reported.
The announcement comes days after the University of Notre Dame announced that it will continue of their Mediocre Books program, which includes books such as Heaven Is For Real, as well as Judy Bloom's theological treatise, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.
