Morehead State University's online master of Business program has been named Best Online MBA Programs for 2014-15 by the Affordable Colleges Foundation.
Ranked programs were analyzed on several cost-, quality-, and student support-related metrics, such as student-faculty ratio, percentage of faculty with Ph.D. degree, and full tuition of online program.
"Flexibility and affordability in online MBA programs is important, but quality cannot be ignored," Dan Schuessler, founder and CEO of Affordable Colleges Foundation, said in a statement. "The online MBA programs on our list offer students the same level of academic excellence and student support that is expected of campus-based programs."
With the job market still recovering from the economic recession, many business professionals are unable to leave their jobs to pursue higher education. As a result, applications for two-year, full-time MBA programs continue to decline. However, online MBA programs have seen a significant increase in applications in that time.
"More working professionals are starting to pursue online MBA degrees," Schuessler said. "The flexible learning environment is crucial for those wishing to continue their education and seek professional advancement."
The mission of the Morehead State University's MBA program is to provide quality online educational opportunities in business for degree and course completion, designed for individuals seeking to improve their management success and focused on working managers.
Those with undergraduate degrees in business may complete the program with a minimum of 30 semester hours. Others, without the undergraduate business core courses, may be admitted to the program by completing the appropriate number of prerequisite courses as determined by the MBA program director.
The program can be completed online via the Internet. Internet classes may be accessed from anywhere using MSU's Blackboard course management system.
