The Kenny Trill experience appears to be over for the foreseeable future, as the quarterback has lost his starting position and been suspended.

Before Saturday's win over UL - Monroe, ESPN reported, Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin told Hill he was suspended for two games. Kyle Allen got the start and led the Aggies to a 21-16 win, snapping a three-game skid.

Jake Spavital, Texas A&M's offensive coordinator, told ESPN Allen's start Saturday was not as a result of Hill's suspension.

"Where we're at right now, we're looking for the best guys to put out there and to go out there and compete, and he definitely earned the starting position," he said.

Hill helped the Aggies get out to a 5-0 start, which included an impressive opening night win over South Carolina in which the QB threw for 511 yards, breaking Johnny Manziel's single game school record. However, the three-game losing streak was capped by a 59-0 drubbing from Alabama in which Allen replaced Hill mid-game.

"It's always disappointing whenever it's any player," Sumlin said in his post-game press conference Saturday. "What we try to do is hold players to certain standards in this program and if you don't meet those standards, there are consequences. Unfortunately, this is one of those times."

Hill threw 17 touchdowns against just two interceptions during the Aggies' 5-0 start, but then threw six of each in the three consecutive losses. The specific reason for his suspension is currently not known, as Texas A&M only said it was for a violation of team rules.

Hill will miss next week's game against Auburn and could also miss the final two matchups with Missouri and LSU. Texas A&M's three losses are all to SEC opponents as the Aggies are now all but eliminated from winning the Western division.

However, Saturday's win did make the team bowl eligible.
