The Auburn Tigers (3) and Ole Miss Rebels (4) are the second and third SEC West teams to make the College Football Playoff (CFP) top four, but perhaps only one can remain.

Auburn has not been quite as dominant as they were last year, yet they still find themselves in the thick of the national title race with a strong rushing attack and a high-scoring offense. On the other side of Saturday night's contest is the defense allowing the fewest average points per game this season.

Mississippi State is leading the way at 4-0 in the SEC with Ole Miss, Auburn and Alabama trailing, each with one loss. However, only one team can represent the SEC West for the conference title, but it remains to be seen if the CFP committee will favor the loser in the SEC title game.

That could also depend on who wins the game. However, coach Gus Malzahn told the Auburn Tigers' official website he has his squad only focused on beating Ole Miss.

"We've got to go there and we've got to play well to win," he said. "That's the only thing on our mind. We aren't looking ahead to this and that. We are going to Ole Miss and we are trying to win the game."

Auburn's only loss this season is to Mississippi State, but they still have Georgia and Alabama on their schedule. Ole Miss suffered its first loss last week to LSU, though if they want to beat Auburn, they will have to manage far more than seven points.

According to ESPN, Ole Miss is the only team in the nation to not give up more than 20 points in a single game, but Auburn is one of four teams to score at least 20 in every game dating back to 2013.
