If the Ohio State Buckeyes (13) want their matchup with Michigan State to matter, they will need to get past the Penn State Nittany Lions Saturday night.

Ohio State will also have to take down Illinois at home next week, but head coach Urban Meyer says his team is not taking either game lightly. After starting out 4-0, Penn State has lost two in a row.

Playing at home, Penn State's defense has its biggest test all season, but stopping the Ohio State offense will not be enough. Penn State has allowed an average of 15 points per game this season, but their offense is managing just 21 points per game.

After losing Braxton Miller to injury, J.T. Barrett has stepped up with solid play under center to compliment a strong running game. To combat a huge, hostile crowd and a tough defense, the Buckeyes will try to play ahead the whole game with a balanced, aggressive offensive attack.

After coming off a road loss to Michigan, the Lions were thankful for their bye week, coach James Franklin told the media, according to the Associated Press.

"We were able to rest our players, we were able to work on technique and fundamentals and some scheme things that need to improve," he said. "We were able to get a lot of work done, so really productive bye week."

After losing to Virginia Tech in week two, Ohio State has won four games in a row while Michigan State has done the same thing since losing to Oregon. Ohio State has won each of the last three games against the Lions in Beaver Stadium and seven of the last nine matchups against Penn State.
