The McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte has announced the launch of a new online MBA program, which began this fall.

The new online program combines team-based learning, personalized mentorship and ample feedback from instructors and peers. It also provides one-on-one sessions with an executive coach, ongoing guidance from an alumni mentor and feedback on leadership through 360-degree reviews from peers and instructors.

"The curriculum places a strong emphasis on mentorship, team building and self-assessment, and you'll benefit from the direct involvement of retired Bank of America Chairman, CEO and President Hugh McColl Jr. and other prominent business executives," according to the school's website.

In addition to a robust core curriculum focusing on topics such as organizational behavior, leadership development, global perspectives and analytics, students choose one of two concentrations. The Healthcare concentration explores the functions of business in the context of hospitals, clinics, insurance companies and other healthcare-related organizations. In the Leadership concentration, students get an in-depth view of what it takes to run a business at the top levels, with studies in strategic thinking, core governance and ethics.

Students enrolled in the program also have the chance to interact face-to-face with their coaches and mentors as well as with faculty members, elite executives and fellow students via two residencies on the Queens campus in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The program is a 36-credit-hour business management degree program consisting of 12 classes (three credit hours each). All students complete nine common courses together in a team approach. These focus on topics such as organizational behavior, leadership development, global perspectives and analytics.
