Ole Miss fans got quite rowdy after beating Alabama at home last Saturday, but they were beyond ready to pay up for their actions.

According to ESPN, students and football fans at the University of Mississippi raised the funds to pay for SEC fines and on-field damage by way of crowd funding. The bill for a $50,000 fine for rushing the field and $25,000 in repairs was covered in less than three hours.

After beating the third-ranked Crimson Tide, the Ole Miss faithful stormed the field and climbed up on the goalposts, tore them down and brought pieces of it to their after parties. Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork set up the crowd funding effort on Ignite, which allowed for donators to get a little something back.

People who donated $5 got a thank you note from Bjork, whereas donations of $500 and $1,000 garnered a 3- and 6-inch piece of the goalpost, respectively. Those who took pieces of the goalposts will also not face any repercussions as well, unless they try to sell them.

"Maybe we priced that too low," Bjork told ESPN.

"We were going to pay all of this no matter what, and it was worth it," he said. "This wasn't all about the money, it was about the connection and the cause and tapping into the emotion from the big win."

The fundraising has not stopped either and the total has breached $90,000 as of Wednesday morning. The extra funds will go toward a scholarship in the name of Chucky Mullins, a former Ole Miss football player paralyzed in 1989 and who died two years later.

Ole Miss leapt in the AP Top 25 poll to a tie for third alongside Mississippi State, who enjoyed an upset win over Texas A&M the same day and in the same state. Ole Miss will visit Texas A&M this Saturday.
