When considering a school to attend to achieve a degree in history, it pays off to look to the Ivy League.

Seven of the eight Ivies made College Factual's Top 10 Colleges for History, all but Dartmouth University. On the surface, there are a lot of reasons why history buffs would love going to such a prestigious institution, considering Yale, number one on the list, was established in 1701 and Harvard, number two, was established in 1636.

Also beneficial to a prospective history major is the city in which a school is situated. For example, while not Ivy League schools, William and Mary, UCLA and Boston College make the list.
