The Arizona Wildcats and Oregon Ducks (2) are both just beginning the difficult part of their schedules and both are trying to protect a 4-0 record overall and a 1-0 Pac-12 record.

Oregon has put up 48 points per game this season, led by Heisman Trophy favorite Marcus Mariota, but their last game was not quite a dominant win. Washington State managed to get to halftime tied with Oregon, before the Ducks outscored their opponent by a touchdown in the second half.

Like Oregon's passer, Anu Solomon has thrown 13 touchdowns this year, leading the Wildcats to one of the 10 best passing offenses in the nation. Washington State QB Connor Halliday threw for 436 yards and four touchdowns on 63 attempts.

"It gives you confidence that when things are going a little tough, that you can battle through those things and fight through those situations," Mariota said after the game, according to ESPN, in which he threw five touchdowns on 25 attempts while completing 21 of them.

Solomon will have to lead a more efficient attack to wear out the Oregon defense and keep Mariota on the sidelines as much as possible. Additionally, Arizona would benefit from a strong run game to support Solomon's efforts.

Arizona beat Oregon last year 42-16 when the Ducks were 9-1 and the game shot down their hopes of getting into a BCS Bowl game for a fifth straight year. Last year, Arizona came into the matchup 3-4 against Pac-12 opponents and look like a stronger team this season.

"Some people use it as a motivating factor," Mariota said of last year's contest. "For us it's just another game."
